Luciana was brought up in Rome through her father and mother - Luciana's dad was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian military officer. Her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was at one time Benito Mussolini's mistresses. She does not have any known siblings. Luciana is the sole woman to have graduated in her high school in Milan. Luciana also studied nautical engineering at the time. She began her modeling career after two years. Then, it changed when she received her first acting part by accident during a visit to her father's Rome close friend. It was a two-line part in the film Three Coins in the Fountain. Brett Halsey, an actor himself, was her very first wife. They got married in 1960 and filmed the film Return to the Peyton Palace. They had one son, named Charles born on 13 June 1961.
