Ina Gardner is author of many famous American cookery books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. The show began in 2002. Ina started her career in the White House as a writer of documents on nuclear energy as well as the budget. Although she initially found the position intellectually stimulating and exciting but she quickly became bored. Barefoot Contessa was then acquired. After more than 18 years of making her shop a massive success she sold it, and then began creating her first novel. There were many more cookbooks as well as magazine columns which were added. The Food Network TV show also was launched with great success. Her products range from kitchen equipment to ingredients as well as storage containers. Ina has never attended any cooking institute and hasn't worked in restaurants. She's completely self-taught. Her name is ascribed to her simple method of cooking, and her effortless entertaining.
